Who We Are

I Have The Right To is the hub for middle and high school students, parents, and educators looking for information, support, and avenues of action against sexual assault. We believe student safety starts with respect. We are a national, Washington, DC based 501(c)3 non-profit organization (EIN/Tax ID: 82-3715628), and your donation is 100% tax deductible.

Our reality

Middle and high school students are in crisis. Statistics on sexual assault include:

  • Every 68 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted; every 9 minutes that victim is a child.
  • 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will experience some form of sexual violence before college.
  • 70% of high school students wished they had more information from their parents about some emotional aspects of relationships
  • 65% of high school students wished that they received guidance on emotional aspects of romantic relationships in school.

We envision a future where every student receives an education free from sexual assault.

We are dedicated to providing comprehensive education programs to middle school and high school youth that empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to recognize, address, and prevent sexual violence. By investing in education, we aim to equip our youth with the tools they need to build healthy relationships, set boundaries, build emotional intelligence, and understand the importance of consent.

We’ve recently finished an incredibly busy first quarter of the year and reached over 8,000 students across 10 states with our programs, keynotes, and support. This April, we will reach over 1,500 more students. What impresses us is the shift we are seeing in schools. Students want to make the world a place that is safe for everyone – one that is based on respect. You can help us do this!
